Attention tactics fans: at first glance, ‘4mation’ seems very simple. As the name implies, players try to form a formation of four with their blue or pink cubes directly in the chess set. The first player to do so wins. Sounds simple? But it’s certainly not. Indeed, the player’s cube must be placed in such a way that it always touches the last placed cube of the opponent. The ‘free choice’ is therefore limited. The number of variants for tactical success is even greater.
